Oh yes indeed, in all ups and downs of life's journey, I will continue to let the praises of my Creator be in my heart. This hymn always gives me joy in the when I hear or sing it.

This is a priceless yesteryear hymn that still has contemporary underpinnings. It is a constant reminder to us that GOD is a GOD of comfort and a surcease in time of trials and tribulations. And boy, are we buffetted about with the vagaries of today's society and the vicissitudes of life! We are so grateful that our LORD is a "covert from storm and from rain" - ISAIAH 4:6, of these perilous times and the waning days of this earth's existence. This hymn has been a favorite of my mother (who is 21 years deceased) and now is included in my "favorites" column.

Verse 2 of this hymn shows us how to even continue to exalt the name of my Maker in even difficult situations, because He will surely rescue me. It means He is aware of the situation. It makes me to rejoice rather than cry and worry. In fact it strengthens me.
