I remember this hymn most keenly when I was a teenaged girl and my heart was broken over a betrayal. As I walked in the rain I sang this song over and over, and it soothed my soul. It has a way of settling your heart in being reminded that The Lord will use every circumstance in our lives for good, if we have yielded our hearts to Him. Then our suffering can be for His glory, even if the reason we are in it is due to our own sin. To God be the glory!

I love this Swedish melody from the pen of Caolina Sandell Berg. I introduce this song to our Male Quartet called "ONE VOICE" and they love the music and the words of this song. Before we sing we always tell the story behind the song. I associated this melody with 2 Corinthian 4:16.
