My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,
“Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”
I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,
“Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay in the slimy quicksand where doubts arise and fears dismay, leaving me double minded. I believe with all my heart that God is in control and has good plans for me. Doubt, fear and worry do not bring peace. They are Satan's darts. Praying for the rest to be found in CONSTANTLY looking to Jesus as He leads me on to higher ground.

This has been a theme song of mine for many years. It breathes reality -- doubts, darts, but above all, faith in the power of God to lift us up where we belong.

Lord plant my feet on higher ground. A higher ground than I have found in Jesus name. I cannot climb without my guide. Please my Jesus see me through this year 2015 in Jesus Name. Amen. With You I will succeed in Jesus Name. Thanks for uploading this song and God bless you all. Shalom!

Something popped this song into my heart while I was meditating and asking for GOD'S Forgiveness. Don't know the words, but the piano made the best interpretation of the song. Dear LORD please help me in pressing on the upward way!

For the first time in my life I felt the power of the Holy Spirit. It was the day we sang this hymn in our church.
