I know not why God’s wondrous grace

1
I know not why God’s wondrous grace
To me He hath made known,
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
  Redeemed me for His own.
But “I know Whom I have believed
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
  Unto Him against that day.”
2
I know not how this saving faith
  To me He did impart,
Nor how believing in His word
  Wrought peace within my heart.
3
I know not how the Spirit moves,
  Convincing men of sin,
Revealing Jesus through the Word,
  Creating faith in Him.
4
I know not what of good or ill
  May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days,
  Before His face I see.
5
I know not when my Lord may come,
  At night or noon-day fair,
Nor if I’ll walk the vale with Him,
Or “meet Him in the air.”

Studying Daniel. Surely He, Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael would sing this song. How blessed to know we'll be in the company of such a great cloud of witnesses to the great grace, love and mercy of our God.

This hymn has anchored my faith on my Saviour and my Redeemer since I was at my teens, this hymns gives me courage and comfort whenever I am down and facing difficulties or pull me back when I went stray. I am so grateful that He is walking with me for my 40 years of believing in Him.

My late aunt who brought me to Jesus Christ love this hymn too.

This song is so awesome and beautiful. One day I was walking my dog, playing this song and people started following me. (to listen with me) After wards, I asked my pastor if this song he knew, only to be informed that it was in our church hymnal. I sing this song daily. Amen and Glory to God.

Came across this hymnal listening to other hymns and worshipping along online just recently. Man, you can tell the Spirit of God inspired this hymn. The stanzas are storylines that almost everyone will resonate with. But the melodious chorus is so reassuring while pointing the singer nicely to the Gospel according to 2 Timothy 1:12

Oh what joy to read and sing the hymns that have nurtured me in my faith since trusting Jesus as a boy. I can hear my deceased Mother singing this beside me. I ache so much for the singing of these wonderful hymns in my church fellowship, rather than pop songs from a wall projection. Some of the modern songs will stand the test of time, but few will. I am also so encouraged to scroll through the comments and see that there are brothers and sisters all over the world, but knowing that there are many others who have eternity in their hearts awaiting a faithful follower to tell them who that One is that stands at the door of the heart knocking. God, we love you!

I'm so much encouraged by this hymn, I'll personalize it. I just learnt it few minutes ago and I want to forever be encouraged by it and live by it.

To know YOU whom I have believed LORD JESUS CHRIST and the power of Resurrection.
