Do Not Be Fashioned (Romans 12:2)

Scriptures for Singing

Neue Lieder886

And do not be fashioned according to this age,
But be transformed by the renewing of the mind
That you may prove what the will of God is,
That which is good and well pleasing and perfect;
Prove what the will of God is,
That which is good and well pleasing and perfect.

Thank you Lord for a way to sing and enjoy this crucial verse concerning the practice of the Body life. Romans 12:2 is Paul's strong exhortation concerning three items: 1) this age- the composition of all the things in our environment that are not God, including religious as well as secular things.

2) Transformation- which is the inward and metabolic process in which God works to spread His divine nature through every part of our being.

3) The renewing of our mind- which means that a new element is wrought into our being which produces a metabolic transformation making us suitable for the building up of the Body of Christ which is the practice of the church life.

From footnotes 2, 3, and 4 on verse 2 Recovery Version of the Bible.
