Lord Jesus, draw me

Longings For a Closer Walk with Christ

Neue Lieder40
1
Lord Jesus, draw me one step further;
Draw me, Lord from where I am.
I’ve been here too long already.
Move me, Lord, I know You can.
2
Your whisper, Lord, so softly sounding,
Deep within my heart does burn.
Let Your stillness now subdue me
That Your feeling I discern.
3
All idle thoughts and impure feelings,
Lord, remove from mind and heart.
Wash me in the crystal water
And more life to me impart.
4
All hidden things that block my vision,
Rocks of self-ambition, pride;
Now expose and burn away, Lord
By Your look intensified.
5
Increase the weight of glory in me,
Let Your Spirit now transform,
That all things would not be wasted
But would work to save me more.
6
Lord Jesus, oh how much I need You!
Thank You, Lord, that You are here,
Ever present as the Body.
I would always seek You there.

praise you Lord for leading me to this song today...this is my prayer, this is my need-to be drawn one step further, from where I am, that the Lord continue to expose and transform me, may everything work to save me more, and may everything that blocks my vision be burned away.

Woah! I just googled "draw me near to the burnings of Your heart, as that's what I've been longing for, and this song came up. So precisely what I've been contending for. This is powerful. Hallelujah Father. For everyone feeling hungry in a desert season, Father I pray that Your Spirit would bestow upon them beauty for ashes! Joy for mourning! Praise for heaviness! O God! Show Yourself strong. Reveal Yourself as the Faithful and True Witness! Hallelujah! Maranatha! Amen! :)

I learned this song before but recently the Lord gave it to me anew as my prayer to Him when I didn't know how to pray. I like the last stanza very much. It's about realizing the Lord is always present with us as the Body. Our need of Him and His need is met more fully when we are moved by Him to experience the Body of Christ more. I will seek Him there always! This is very high but normal in our experience, isn't it?

Amen. May the Lord draw us further from where we are. Praise Him for His sovereign mercy! This song portrays the prayer of a thankful person to the Lord. Whenever I sing this song to the Lord, I can really feel His presence drawing me. It reminds me that He is everything I need and that He is ever present all the time.

Wow, this song is so good. Lord draw us one step further. We don't want to remain lukewarm. Make us burning for You. Remove all things that block the heavenly vision. We want to see more of You. Thank You Lord.

'O Lord, do draw us one step further, draw us Lord from where we are'. How we just need to give ourselves to the Lord, so that He may impart more of his life into us! Praise Him!

This song really expresses the deep experiences of Christ. When He speaks, He speaks so softly, yet at the same time He burns within, the only thing we can do is stop and listen to what He wants to say. Sometimes He touches me about my thoughts and self-ambition and pride.. He is slowly exposing and burning them away. Whatevers not of Him, must be burned away. His Spirit is transforming me and saving me day by day. Lord, I just want to remain open to Your spreading in my being.
