Don’t you want to know your God?
What’s hidden in His heart for you?
How much He longs for you to come
And open up—
To let Him in to every part
Let Him reveal what’s on His heart
What was the joy set before Him?

It was for her the church—His bride
It was for her, willingly He died
She is the joy deep in His heart
His masterpiece—
His counterpart.
2
The Lord chose you to be a part
Of His great plan, His work of art.
What wonder! What a privilege!
To satisfy
His yearning to share all He is—
Divine, unsearchable riches!
What wisdom, multifarious expressed!
3
As we enjoy and enter in
To all He is then we’ll begin
To understand the feeling in
His heart toward us.
What love that motivated Him
To come to us, despite our sin
Why did He go and sell all that He had?

Versión en español fácil de cantar:

1.
¿A Tu Dios quieres conocer?
¿Lo⏝oculto en Su corazón?
Desea que tu vuelvas y
Te⏝abras a Él;
Que entre en cada rincón,
Revele⏝a ti Su corazón.
¿Cuál fue el gozo puesto ante Él?
Por ella fue que se⏝entregó,
Su novia, el complemento, que⏝es
El gozo de Su corazón;
Su⏝obra maestra,
La⏝iglesia es.

2.
Él te⏝escogió para formar
Parte de Su grandioso plan.
¡Oh, qué honor! Satisfacer
Su⏝anhelo de
Darte a ti todo Su ser,
¡Divino, rico,⏝insondable!
¡Oh, qué saber Él dio a conocer!

3.
Al disfrutar y⏝entrar en Él,
Comenzaremos a⏝entender

I love this hymn. It moves me to tears. The last stanza reminds me that God became incarnate that we may become partakers of the divine nature. (2 Peter 1:4). Thank You Lord for loving us and dying to make us Your masterpiece and bride.

Looking away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who FOR THE JOY SET BEFORE HIM endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down on the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
