Über die Zahlennotation

Die Zahlennotation (auch Jianpu oder 简谱 genannt) schreibt jede Melodienote als Zahl von 1 bis 7 statt als Note auf einem Notensystem. Die Zahl zeigt die Stellung der Note in der Tonleiter des Liedes -- nicht ihre genaue Tonhöhe --, sodass dieselbe Melodie unabhängig von der gesungenen Tonart gleich aussieht.

Innerhalb einer Oktave entsprechen die Zahlen 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 den bekannten Solmisationssilben Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti. Ein Punkt über einer Zahl hebt sie um eine Oktave an; ein Punkt darunter senkt sie um eine Oktave ab -- ohne Punkt bleibt es bei der mittleren, so geschriebenen Oktave.

Eine einzelne Zahl dauert einen Schlag. Ein Bindestrich (-) direkt nach einer Zahl hält dieselbe Note einen weiteren Schlag lang. Ein Strich unter einer Zahl verkürzt sie dagegen -- ein Strich ist ein halber Schlag, zwei Striche ein viertel Schlag. Eine 0 ist eine Pause: ein Schlag Stille.

Die Angabe oben auf dem Notenblatt, zum Beispiel "1=C" oder "1=Ab", zeigt, auf welcher Tonhöhe die Stufe 1 ("Do") liegt. Ein Lied in Moll trägt stattdessen die Angabe "6=X" -- Stufe 6 ("La") ist dann der eigentliche Grundton. Akkordsymbole über den Noten (wie "C" oder "G7") werden immer mit ihren gewohnten Buchstabennamen geschrieben, nie als Zahlen.

Bei der Angabe "1=C" klingen die Zahlen 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 als C D E F G A B. Bei "1=G" klingen dieselben Zahlen dagegen als G A B C D E F# -- gleiche Form, andere Tonart.

This song really touches me, especially when I'm very depressed. I feel as though nothing compares to what I'm going through. But when I hear this song, I realize that our Lord has gone through what we went through, and much worse. This song just touches me since I really have this Someone to turn to when I'm feeling sad. Lord, Thank You that You're this Someone!

This is a wonderful hymn. I love it very much. Every line carries life in it. Whenever I'm struck in a very complicated situation especially times when others cannot understand even if you detail them I find it very difficult to go on. But there is this blessed Redeemer reminding this song in me. Sometimes there is no love in me for Him, yet right in my spirit there is this wonderful "someone who can love me When there's no love in me". I JUST FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM AGAIN.

On Lord's Day, 3 saints who came from the Philippines and a couple fromt the church in Longbeach join a Love-feast in Chula Vista. After the lunch they gathered together and sang this song. The couple from Longbeach, gave the background of this song. It was written for the daugther of the composer, who was in her teen. She said, that there was no one in this world that can understand her. With all the question as it was written in the song, the father composed this song and sang it to her and she was touched and shed in tears. The saints in Chula Vista were also touched with the story behind the song. Thank the Lord, the Christ is this Someone who knows all our need. Praise the Lord.
