Über die Zahlennotation

Die Zahlennotation (auch Jianpu oder 简谱 genannt) schreibt jede Melodienote als Zahl von 1 bis 7 statt als Note auf einem Notensystem. Die Zahl zeigt die Stellung der Note in der Tonleiter des Liedes -- nicht ihre genaue Tonhöhe --, sodass dieselbe Melodie unabhängig von der gesungenen Tonart gleich aussieht.

Innerhalb einer Oktave entsprechen die Zahlen 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 den bekannten Solmisationssilben Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti. Ein Punkt über einer Zahl hebt sie um eine Oktave an; ein Punkt darunter senkt sie um eine Oktave ab -- ohne Punkt bleibt es bei der mittleren, so geschriebenen Oktave.

Eine einzelne Zahl dauert einen Schlag. Ein Bindestrich (-) direkt nach einer Zahl hält dieselbe Note einen weiteren Schlag lang. Ein Strich unter einer Zahl verkürzt sie dagegen -- ein Strich ist ein halber Schlag, zwei Striche ein viertel Schlag. Eine 0 ist eine Pause: ein Schlag Stille.

Die Angabe oben auf dem Notenblatt, zum Beispiel "1=C" oder "1=Ab", zeigt, auf welcher Tonhöhe die Stufe 1 ("Do") liegt. Ein Lied in Moll trägt stattdessen die Angabe "6=X" -- Stufe 6 ("La") ist dann der eigentliche Grundton. Akkordsymbole über den Noten (wie "C" oder "G7") werden immer mit ihren gewohnten Buchstabennamen geschrieben, nie als Zahlen.

Bei der Angabe "1=C" klingen die Zahlen 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 als C D E F G A B. Bei "1=G" klingen dieselben Zahlen dagegen als G A B C D E F# -- gleiche Form, andere Tonart.

Thank you for this demonstration of such a beloved hymn whose focus is winning souls!

My favorite line is; Lord, lay some soul upon my heart and love that soul through me.

Our church in Austin Texas ( Shiloh Austin Church ) is conducting a year long outreach for souls titled " Lord, Lay Some Soul Upon My Heart."

I've chosen this hymn out of many to present to our Pastor and our Pastor's wife who is our Praise Leader....

Praise the LORD for this wonderful song. After I finally got saved, Thank tou LORD for your grace and goodness, We (wife and me) learned this song. Well as you have it the Lord used us to tell the Good News - Jesus saves. Hw led us to Germany as His witness. We sing that wonderful song as we are witnessing to the people here - They ALL need JESUS.

When I was 17 I received Jesus my Lord in my heart. My Christian mento, who share the gospel of grace as a staff of Korea Navigators, teach me this song. What a lovely song it is! and it encouraged me to pray for the list souls and to witness my Lord Jesus to the souls. Thank you very much.
