Service In the Stream

English909
1
In the stream! in the stream! let us work for the Lord,
By His mind, in His way, as revealed in His Word;
In the flow of His life let us work with His pow’r
For His Kingdom and Church in the time of His hour.

In the stream! in the stream!
Let us work in the stream!
In the stream! in the stream!
We’ll work as in the heav’nly team!
2
In the stream! in the stream! let us work with the Lord
In the flow of the Spirit, as taught by His Word;
Never working by self, independent and free,
But in service related in full harmony.
3
In the stream! in the stream! let us work in the Lord,
With the Church, with the saints, in the light of His Word;
Give the Word, life supply to the people in need,
Thus fulfilling God’s plan, in His flow we’ll proceed.

When we enjoy the table of the Lord in the spirit and are in one accord, we are in the divine flow. So it is wonderful to sing this hymn also at the table of the Lord.

When we release our opinions, let go of past experience, and simply serve together in harmony, something sweet happens. Heaven touches earth. The burden becomes light. And the Lord does what only He can do.

Let us continue in one accord—praying, yielding, and watching the Lord build His Church through us.

In Acts 1:14 the saints were praying in one accord, then in 2:4 they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, then in 2:41 there were 3, 000 souls added that day! This is a real lesson on how crucial it is in our service to drop our opinions and previous experience and experience the sweetness and the blessing of serving together in one accord.

I remember singing this wonderful hymn in the FTTA with the UCI team and it was so precious to coordinate and pray in harmony. May we work as in the heavenly team!
