Praise to the Holiest in the height

Praise of the Lord His Humanity

English63
1
Praise to the Holiest in the height,
And in the depth be praise:
In all His words most wonderful;
Most sure in all His ways.
2
O loving wisdom of our God,
When all was sin and shame,
He, the last Adam, to the fight
And to the rescue came.
3
O wisest love! that flesh and blood
Which did in Adam fail,
Should strive afresh against the foe,
Should strive and should prevail.
4
And that a higher gift than grace
Should flesh and blood refine,
God’s presence, and His very self
And essence all-divine.
5
O generous love! that He, who smote
In man for man the foe,
The double agony in man
For man should undergo.
6
And in the garden secretly,
And on the cross on high,
Should teach His brethren, and inspire
To suffer and to die.
7
Praise to the Holiest in the height,
And in the depth be praise:
In all His words most wonderful;
Most sure in all His ways.

THE BLESSING OF THE GOSPEL

Galatians 3:13 says, “Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse on our behalf; because it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone hanging on a tree. ’” Paul was telling the Galatians that the law did not bring any blessing to us, but it only put us under a curse. Then Christ came and died on the cross to redeem us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse on our behalf. Christ Himself became a curse on the cross. While Christ was being crucified on the cross, there was a sign of curse upon Him—a crown of thorns. Genesis 3 shows that after man fell, sin entered and with it the curse. The curse was that the earth would bring forth thorns and thistles ( v. 18 ). Thorns are a sign of the curse, and on the cross Jesus bore this curse. When He was hanging on the cross wearing a crown of thorns, this indicated that He was made a curse on our behalf.

Our Sins Having Been Taken Away by the Lord Jesus on the Cross

The spirit within us became deadened because of sin entering into us. Therefore, in order to make our spirit alive, God needed to take away our sins. For this reason the Lord Jesus died on the cross to bear our sins, and on the cross He solved the problem of our sins. Colossians 2:13 says, “You, though dead in your offenses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our offenses. ” God forgave all our offenses, our sins, and made us alive together with Christ. To be made alive in this verse refers to our spirit being made alive.

Our Spirit Being Enlivened through Our Confession of Our Sins and God’s Forgiveness

When we believed into the Lord, we were convicted inwardly, causing us to grieve and repent for our sins and to confess them before God. Through our confessing of our sins, God forgave us of our sins because of the precious blood that the Lord Jesus shed on the cross. Furthermore, the Spirit of God entered into our spirit and enlivened our deadened spirit ( Acts 2:38 ).

They don't write them like that any more. Syntax is incredibly convoluted to the modern ear but - oh, amazing and thought-provoling truths are contained in this hymn.

I stand in awe of the Love of God, reading and singing these verses!!

It just makes me cry like I did on the day I was saved, some years ago!!

It was the Great Revelation of the Love OF GOD, through JESUS CHRIST Our Lord, ---that saved my soul from hell. I was totally sold to him by the blood that was shed for me!!. He became my Lord and Savior forever.!!

These verses say it in a powerful way.!!
I praise God for the Brother that wrote it.
Thanks for making it available on this media.
May God's richest and best be yours.
Love you God bless you.
Our Lord reigns.
Jesus is Lord !!

In fact, many at times I wake up with 'Praise to The Holiest in the height' filling my whole mind. I had to search the words and sing to have a fulfilling morning. I think this is a song of reverence to the Lord Jesus. May we never be hesitant when the Holy Spirit promt us to sing. Amen.
