The love of God is greater far

Worship of the Father His Love

English28
1
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell.
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin.

O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
2
When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall;
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call;
God’s love, so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song.
3
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

The love of God accomplished salvation for us; though we were in the lowest pit, enemies of God and sinners dead in sins and offences, He came to us, He displayed His love toward us, and He died for us.

Praise the Lord! Out of His great love toward us, He prepared and accomplished a marvellous salvation; then, He comes to us and causes us to obtain salvation and become His children. Hallelujah! 😀

This song is so precious, I have been thru so much on this earth, but the Love of God has been by my side. You can't even begin to fathom his love, and how deep it is. It's like heaven, it's real especially Eternity with Jesus the one whom saved us. Sitting at the Father right hand. Thank you for the gift of this song. The History is amazing.

This song was divinely inspired. It touches the core of the human heart.!!!! It echoes The word of God “what shall separate us from the LOVE of GOD “ The LOVE that will not let us go. What manner of love is this that we should be called children of God !!!! I can only respond by saying thank you God for your precious love -for the riches of your love ; the love that you commanded towards us while we were yet sinners Christ died for us hallelujah!!!!!

My mother loved this hymn. She died last week, age 96. She truly shared God’s love with everyone she met.

I have heard this song since I was a child but am just now beginning to understanding it, although cannot comprehend it. For some reason it came to my mind tonight and I had to look up the lyrics. God’s mercy and forgiveness because of His great love for us is so far beyond my comprehension. I’m blown away! Lord, please help me love like you do!
