Fairest Lord Jesus

Praise of the Lord His Beauty

English175
1
Fairest Lord Jesus!
Ruler of all nature!
O Thou of God and man the Son!
Thee will I cherish,
Thee will I honor,
Thou, my soul’s glory, joy, and crown!
2
Fair are the meadows
Fairer still the woodlands,
Robed in the blooming garb of spring;
Jesus is fairer,
Jesus is purer,
Who makes the woeful heart to sing!
3
Fair is the sunshine,
Fairer still the moonlight,
And all the twinkling starry host;
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer,
Than all the angels heav’n can boast!
4
All fairest beauty,
Heavenly and earthly,
Wondrously, Jesus, is found in Thee;
None can be nearer,
Fairer, or dearer,
Than Thou my Savior art to me.

Lord how we thank You for giving us open eyes of our hearts to gaze Your beauty, oh how we enjoy Your beauty, we are attracted by Your beauty. You are so beautiful we can not but look at You and in Your eyes we find ourselves thank You for loving us so dearly. Lord we adore You.

There was such a beautiful, full moon last night, and it caused me to reflect on this hymn, learnt as a youngster. Just now, I'm playing this and singing it to my 10 month old granddaughter. Thankful for this website.

Our late Dad's favourite hymn! Today's his 100th birthday and we his children propose to sing it to honour our Lord!

I woke up this morning singing this powerful hymn and I kept on singing as the Presence of the Lord saturated the atmosphere. Love this hymn.

I often sing this song early in the morning after waking up. I often feel sad and depressed in the morning. As John Piper once said he has to get saved all over again each morning as through the night he devil has been sitting on his face.

This hymn is just so unbelievably beautiful and I feel my heart ushered into the presence of God. The darkness is washed away and I again find strength to face another day.

-Mrs. Busby--my Christian extended family who is of Ukrainian heritage--taught me "Fairest Lord Jesus": "Glory and honor, praise, adoration now and forevermore be Thine!" Mrs. Busby tells me it's sad that Hollywood exploits the name of God by saying "Jesus Christ!" to be mean to Fairest Lord Jesus, but we will resiliently honor Fairest Lord Jesus!
