To Jesus every day we find our hearts are closer drawn

Experience of Christ Enjoying Him

English1152
1
To Jesus every day we find our hearts are closer drawn;
He’s fairer than the sons of men and fresher than the morn;
He’s all that we can say of Him in fairest words and more,
And every day He’s dearer than He was the day before.

The half cannot be fancied of such a treasure-store,
And every day He’s dearer than He ever was before!
2
His glory broke upon us when we saw Him in the church,
For here are all His riches, here we’ve given up our search;
’Tis here He satisfies our longing spirits o’er and o’er,
And every day He’s dearer than He was the day before.
3
Now He’s the living Spirit who within our spirit dwells,
And by His sweet anointing, how His life within us swells!
As with the saints we’re meeting, full released our spirits soar,
For now our Lord is dearer than He ever was before.
4
The Lord has made us one with Him for His recovery:
The riches of this Christ, the church His fullness, men must see.
Yes, all we have and all we are, we every day outpour
For His tremendous purpose, ever dearer than before.

I came across these verses in my daily reading. I believe they might have been the thought of the author.

Kings 10:6-7 And she [Queen of Sheba talking to Solomon] said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.

7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me:

Haven’t we all seen or experienced part of God’s wisdom [Christ is the wisdom of God]? The riches of Christ in our experience are a treasure store to us.

But I believe we will never see the half because of our vast God who is the I Am for eternity.

This song is very much my experience. Every day when I come to him, he is dearer than he was before. I must not be satisfied with the Christ I have or have enjoyed. This is not even half of what the Lord will be to me. I first really experienced the joy of the Lord when I came to the church and saw the Saints all rejoicing. This is the greatest joy on earth.

In Mathew chapter 25 the Lord says unto the faithful servant “enter thou into the joy of thy Lord” The joy we experience today is still only a foretaste of what we will enjoy eternally!

For the Drawing

of All Men to Christ

In John 12:32 the Lord Jesus said, “I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself. ” This indicates that Christ’s all-inclusive death was for the drawing of all men to Himself.

All those who are drawn to Him eventually become the fruits produced by His death and resurrection. On the one hand, we are those who have been drawn to the Lord. On the other hand, we are grains produced by the death and resurrection of Christ. Praise the Lord that we are the grains and that we are the drawn ones! Praise the Lord that the church life has been multiplied! In fact, this multiplication is still taking place, for many are still being drawn to Christ.

Although I have been saved almost 55 years I fully realize that we have not seen or heard half of the great love of Christ. The church is being built up in this love! To me every day He is dearer than He was yesterday!
