O Love, that wilt not let me go

O Love, that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in Thee;
I give Thee back the life I owe,
That in Thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.
O Light, that followest all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to Thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in Thy sunshine's blaze its day
May brighter, fairer be.
O Joy, that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to Thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain
That morn shall tearless be.
O Cross, that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from Thee;
I lay in dust life's glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

Psalms 30:5 For His anger lasts but a moment, His favor, a lifetime; Weeping may linger in the evening, But a ringing shout goes up in the morning.

Thank You my dearest Lord. You bound up the wounds of the brokenhearted me.

Although the One that attracts us is not mentioned by name in this hymn, anyone who loves Him knows who He is! When Mary visited the tomb and spoke to the One who she thought was the gardener, she referred to the One she was seeking and loving as HIM (John 20:15)! When He gives Himself to us, there is a longing to give back to Him! "We love because He first loved us."

I love this hymn because it always reminds me that my pain is nothing compared to His and that one day my pains will cease because of Him and what He has done for me.

Thank You Jesus!

O Love that will not let me go. That's how powerful God's love is, we can rest in that wonderful love. It is just wonderful to read the comments of so many people all over the world who belong to Jesus. Praise His glorious Name!

This is one of the most beautiful old hymns I have ever heard...the words are so powerful and deeply felt. O, Love that will not let us go. Lord, You are our Love!

The writer of this hymn was about to get married...but when after he got physically blinded, you know what happened next. For that reason, he was rejected by the woman. Just because of that case, the woman refuse to marry him and even took care of him. So when he was under distress he wrote this hymn in five minutes. The Lord's love is eternal and it wilt not let us go.
