I need Thee every hour

This hymn was written by an ordinary 37 year old housewife from Brooklyn, NY. Annie Hawks was busy with her household chores when the words came to her. She later wrote, "I was so filled with a sense of nearness to my Master that, wondering how one could live without Him in either joy or pain, these words, 'I need thee every hour,' were flashed into my mind. Seating myself by the open window in the balmy air of the bright June day, I caught up my pencil and the words were soon committed to paper."

Hawks reflected, "It was not until years later, when the shadow fell over my way, the shadow of a great loss, that I understood something of the comforting power in the words." God often allows us to learn in the sunshine what we will need to lean on in the darkness. - Great Songs of Faith by Brown and Norton.

Lord I need You in this situation. You are the pillar of my life, my strength in time of trouble. Remember Your word and Your blood You shed on the cross of Calvary because of me. Manifest Your power and let all enemies be ashamed.

This has been my soul lifting soul but it could hinder me from enjoying it the way I wanted because I couldn't play it on the piano. Praise be to God that now I have got the music sheet so I can now enjoy it on piano. Thanks hymnal.net for your services. I like that.

Oh I need Thee Lord!!!

Lord I need You all the time. You have been my pillar of strength when all hope was gone, my Provider and my all in all. Difficult to explain but I wish to say that I have experienced what You mean by "You will not leave nor forsake me". Thank You, Lord for Your unending love. I love You!

I love this hymn, it reminds me of the Baptist Church in Athlone CapeTown, when I was a child, and my mother, always singing, she has gone home to the Lord, but I still remember, her example. 69 yrs, and learning I can do nothing without my Lord, He is my everything, and I can only Praise His Holy Name and cry out I NEED THEE; EVERY SECOND MY LORD; HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This song is a prayer I pray daily. I really need You Lord in everything I do, because without You I am nothing. Without You I can't make it. Without You, Lord, my life is vain so please stay near and never leave me.

The Lord is all that I need in this life.

I need You Lord more than before.........presently, events in my life is overwhelming and too much for my soul to bear........uphold me Lord. Hold my hand through this tough time......I need You my Father!

This song blesses my soul. I love Thee with all my heart. Father God I love You and trust in You so much.
