關於簡譜

簡譜（Numbered Notation）以 1 到 7 的數字來表示旋律中的每個音，而不是用五線譜上的音符。數字代表這個音在該曲調音階中的級數，而非絕對音高，所以無論用什麼調演唱，同一首曲子的簡譜寫法都一樣。

同一個八度內，數字 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 對應大家熟悉的唱名 Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti。數字上方加一點，表示高八度；下方加一點，表示低八度──不加點則是原本書寫的中央八度。

單獨一個數字代表一拍。數字後面緊接一條短橫線（-），表示這個音延長一拍。數字下方加一條底線則相反，表示縮短時值──一條底線是半拍，兩條底線是四分之一拍。「0」代表休止符，也就是停頓一拍。

譜面最上方的標示，例如「1=C」或「1=Ab」，說明級數 1（「Do」）對應的實際音高。小調樂曲則標示「6=X」──級數 6（「La」）才是真正的主音。音符上方的和絃名稱（如「C」或「G7」）一律使用熟悉的字母名稱，不會改成數字。

例如在「1=C」的標示下，數字 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 唱出來是 C D E F G A B；在「1=G」的標示下，同樣的數字 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 卻唱出 G A B C D E F#──形狀相同，調性不同。

O living Word of God, God’s image true,
Thou art the content of God’s written word;
God in Thee we have met, God’s fullness found,
And in the Scripture we Thyself have heard.

No man has e’er seen God, apart from Thee,
Without the Scripture Thee we’d hardly see;
Thou to the human race God hast declared,
And thru the Scripture Thou art shown to me.

Perfect embodiment Thou art of God,
A portrait full the Scripture gives of Thee;
In Thee we comprehend God’s image true,
And thru the Scripture Thou art real to me.

Life-giving Spirit Thou, as well as Word,
Now e’en the Spirit in the Word Thou art;
When thru the Spirit giv’n, I touch the Word,
Fullness divine to me Thou dost impart.

In Thee I may with God have fellowship,
And thru the Scripture I on Thee may feed;
Thru study of the Word with prayer to God
Thy glorious riches fully meet my need.

Teach me to exercise my spirit, Lord,

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh.

No man has ever seen God apart from Thee. I like all the deep revelation in this hymn concerning the Word.

Praise the Lord, we have a hymn telling us many living functions of our precious Bible. By faith in Scriture we see God, we have a fellowship with God and His portrait, we hear His voice and we feed on Him... Hallelujah, Amen!
