The following verses in Galatians reminded me of this wonderful song:

When we believe, Satan will present a mountain of evidence contrary to God’s word, but as we persevere in faith, the mountain begins to erode, until our experience lines up with the word of God. This quote is from Watchman Nees Overcoming Life. So we don’t have to be discouraged just go on believing God. Who are you going to believe, your situation or God’s word? Hallelujah for simple faith.

While the lyrics say “There is no demand on me, only simple faith” it is not theologically accurate. The faith given to us leads to loving obedience it still makes demands on us that unbelievers misconstrue as a burden. Jesus said “Take up my cross and follow me”.
