O God, our help in ages past

Experience of God As the Dwelling Place

English607
1
O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.
2
Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defence is sure.
3
Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.
4
A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.
5
Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.
6
O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while life shall last,
And our eternal home.

This song came to my mind this morning during my morning devotion, after reading Psalm 34 and as I pondered on all the problems surrounding me at this very point in time and I know that it is only God that it is only God that can help me, because He has been my help all through this year 2025. Our help in ages past, please help me at this very moment in Jesus name Amen 🙌🙏

I woke up this morning at 5 am with thoughts in my mind, counting my failures, disappointments, and also remembering that I have a God who is my father that sees all my thoughts and is willing to hold my hands and embrace me like the prodigal son’s father, then came this song in my heart and I reached out to my phone and searched for the lyrics.

Bless be the God, the father of my savior Jesus Christ who is my help yesterday and my hope for years to come. Amen
