This song is a deep abiding call to the depths of our being. It speaks beyond the lyrics and simple straightforward tune. I will never, no matter the time or distance, be able to shake the strong strong inner drawing the song accomplishes in me. It has a hold of me - and has for 30 years.
I still remember coming late to the high school singing time in my hometown local church. I was walking in the downstairs doors while this song floated from the open upstairs windows. I felt, strongly, a sense that I should be here.
