What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful

Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;

This song is my favorite. Every time I'm listening to this I always cry.

We used to sing this song in school, funny how it sticks with you in later life when the words come alive, didn't know it was such a gem.

This song lifts up my soul and comforts me. It was one of the favorite songs of my late Mum who passed away on 16/02/18. She had always requested us to play this song to celebrate her memorial. While I miss my Mum, I know she is happy and joyful with our dear Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This song brings me closer to God and gives me wherever my spirit is troubled.

Came back home frustrated and hurt by my mum. She was self justifying, saying 'too bad, I'm like that. You should pray harder for me and your dad'. When I got home, this song was playing on the sound system (tho we checked that it was off before we left home! ) - I knew it was from God. I looked up the lyrics and felt His immediate Presence and comfort, the assurance that He is sovereign and in control. All my frustrations melted in His love.

While reading a devotional about how the Lord uses the troubles of our life, I remembered this hymn. It is befitting a recent trouble of the a life long friend and a comforting reminder that Jesus is our ONLY life long friend and on through the eternities.

Just took this song when I was down spiritually but before I ended it I was smiling. It's food for the soul.

This song renews me each time I hear it. Oh so wonderfully put. Thank You Lord Jesus. I believe in You and that You died for my sins and that You're the Son of God.
