The Spirit of the triune God Within our spirit now doth rest; He ever seeks thru us to flow, That God in Christ may be expressed. |

But by the outward, natural man The Spirit is confined within; Instead of giving Him a home, A prison we’ve become to Him. |

He’s like a treasure of great worth Contained in vessels earthen-made; The vessel must be broken through And thus the treasure be displayed. |

The service that God wants from us does not focus on doing a work but on ministering life. If we want the divine life to be released from within us, we must be subdued in our soul and let our spirit dominate and rule over every matter, then the Lord's life will be able to flow out. God requires that our spirit be released and the church also requires that our spirit be released. We have a crucial need: our outer man must be broken. If our outer man is not broken, our spirit will not be released! Lord thank you for all the circumstantial suffering You lovingly arrange for us to be broken so that Your life in us can flow out to others. Every day Lord make us Your captives, don't let us win, defeat us all the time!

This song means so much to me. Whenever I sing it, ushers in a deep realisation of how much God needs us to grow in His divine life and nature for the accomplishing of His eternal purpose and how much we need Him to transform our souls that we may conform to His image for His eternal expression. In doing so, God in His governmental administration with His provision of grace arranges circumstantial sufferings with the aim of gaining our troublesome souls. How we love Him for His thoughts toward us His chosen and redeemed people.
