Hast thou no scar? No hidden scar on foot, or side, or hand? I hear thee sung throughout the land, I hear them hail thy shining star, Hast thou no scar? no scar?

Hast thou no wound? Yet I was wounded by the archers, spent, Leaned Me against a tree; and rent By ravening beasts ’round Me, I swooned: Hast thou no wound? no wound?

No wound? no scar? Yet, as the Master shall the servant be, And pierced the feet that follow Me; But whole? can he have followed far Who has no wound nor scar?
I was reminded of this sweet hymn as I read that for Christ to make His home in my heart, and for Him to have a way in the church, that is to build it, the breaking of the outer man is both crucial and vital. Amen Lord gain what You desire.
I enjoyed singing this hymn and was reminded afresh that all things work together to conform us to the image of Christ (Rom. 8:28-29): "...Yet, as the Master shall the servant be..." Praise the Lord!
