On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, The emblem of suff’ring and shame, And I love that old cross where the Dearest and Best For a world of lost sinners was slain.

In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, A wondrous beauty I see; For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, To pardon and sanctify me.

This is soul lifting, always the first I love to hear in the morning, it prepares and reminds me of the life journey am in to and God’s love and great sacrifice.
Glory to God in the highest! Praise to The One who humbled himself as a baby in a manger, then as a sinless lamb, gave himself to be crucified for our sin. For my sin. Oh Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God. You demonstrate this love and mercy for me daily.
