An int’rest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain?
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! how can it be
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love Divine!
’Tis mercy all! let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love Divine!
’Tis mercy all! let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
So free, so infinite His grace;
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For, O my God, it found out me.
’Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For, O my God, it found out me.
So free, so infinite His grace;
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For, O my God, it found out me.
’Tis mercy all, immense and free;
For, O my God, it found out me.
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray,
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray,
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine!
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness Divine,
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine!
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness Divine,
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

Reading these comments has blessed my heart. This old hymn captures the unfathomable love of the Father so well. What a mystery! What joy! And to hear that echoed all around the world...

It is wonderful for our Lord to be incarnated, live as man, crucified, died, resurrected, went up and came down as life giving Spirit. He entered into us to give us life.

A hymn that is food to the human soul, one of the greatest of all times.

All I can say is hallelujah! hallelujah! hallulejah! Jesus died for my sins and has set me free. What a beautiful and soothing hymn. Praise God! Amen.

I like listening to this hymn over and over because it is one of my favourite hymns. Even though it is an Easter hymn but I can't wait till Easter comes before I play it. Who am I to deserve the love of Jesus Christ by coming down from heaven to die for my sins. Oh, what amazing love? Thank You Jesus for allowing Yourself to be crucified for my salvation.

An anytime hymn! Especially today when my dear daughter is struggling.

This is one of my favourite Easter Hymns, it captures the essence of Easter and the position of Christ and mortals in the redemption story. Simply Awesome.

The fifth verse reads: No condemnation now I dread. I was going to undertake a major surgical session and I was already marked for death. I came out of the theatre lifeless, I had stopped breathing and the doctors had given up. I suddenly opened my eyes and the pastors were screaming Thank You Jesus, she is alive. I am alive because of the death on the cross. What an amazing love!

I have always loved this hymn. It's always been sung quickly and so Majestically, just a lot of fun with a ton of meaning. This was a hymn at my grandmother's funeral. It was also one of the last times I heard mom play the organ. This hymn has lots of special memories, and singing it on Easter Sunday, WOW!!

Wow, constantly reminds me of how wretched I am, and how the Savior bought me at such a price with HIS blood. "In vain the firstborn seraph tries" We CANNOT comprehend His vast love for us, Thank You Jesus!
