“Come and dine,” the Lord is calling,
  “Come and dine”—
We can eat and drink of Jesus all the time!
  He’s our daily food supply,
  Only He can satisfy.
“Come and dine,” the Lord is calling,
  “Come and dine.”
2
“Come and dine,” the Lord is calling,
  “Come and dine.”
When we eat and drink of Jesus all the time,
  He becomes our life within,
And He fills us to the brim.
“Come and dine,” the Lord is calling,
  “Come and dine.”

(2) Imparting His Life into

Us for Our Nourishment

-------------------------------

As the Passover Lamb Christ not only shed His blood for our redemption; He also imparts His life into us for our nourishment. Concerning this, in verse 51 the Lord Jesus said, “I am the living bread which came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he shall live forever. And the bread which I will give is My flesh, given for the life of the world. ” At this point the bread (mentioned earlier in the chapter) becomes the flesh. Bread is of the vegetable life and is only for feeding; flesh is of the animal life and is not only for feeding but also for redeeming. Before the fall of man, the Lord was the tree of life (Gen. 2:9), which is only for feeding man. After man fell into sin, the Lord became the Lamb (John 1:29), which is not only for feeding man but also for redeeming him (Exo. 12:4 , 7-8).

In John 6:51b the Lord Jesus tells us that His flesh would be given “for the life of the world. ” The Lord gave His body, that is, His flesh, dying for us that we might have life.

b. The Bread of Life

--------------------------

Many verses in John 6 reveal that, for our experience and enjoyment, Christ is the bread of life (vv. 27 , 32-35 , 47-58 , 63a , 68b). As the bread of life, He is the bread with eternal life. Spiritually speaking, everyone is hungry and in need of Christ as the bread of life.

A very beautiful and melodious song. It shows that Jesus is always ready to provide for us all the time. It’s only us who do not see the ready prepared meal.

"We can eat and drink of Jesus all the time!"

The best time to eat is when we feel like we have no strength, no encouragement, no words to sing to the Lord.

As I was telling the Lord, I feel weak and short of words to say to Him, this hymn came to mind.. "Come and dine!" Just come and dine! The Lord can fill us and only He can satisfy!

(John 6:51, 57, 4:14)

to the hungry calleth now come and dine.

Glory be to God! Grateful John 3:16

Blessing to hear the tune. I enjoyed the song!

The ordinances of the offerings are a recipe of the divine cooking. Christ is the groceries, we are the cooks, and God and we are the co-eaters enjoying Christ as the satisfaction. This is the highlight of the book of Leviticus. Spiritually speaking, nothing can be higher than our enjoyment of the Triune God in Christ.

Have you ever realized that the church meeting is a cooking meeting, an eating meeting? We have spoken about coming to the meetings to eat, and in the meetings we have sung the short song "Come and Dine" (Hymns, #1148). However, we may never have had the thought that we need the cooking. The groceries are here, and the eaters are also here, but who are the cooks? I have the assurance to say that God and the Spirit are not the cooks but that we are the cooks. Therefore, we all must learn to cook.

From the types in Leviticus, we can see that God surely desires to enjoy Christ. He wants to enjoy Christ through our appreciation of Christ and through our presentation of Christ. However, even up to now, we are still too, old, traditional, superficial, and religious. May we all see that our God desires to enjoy Christ. Christ should not only be our food but also God's food through appreciation and presentation, that is, through our cooking. We all need to cook Christ that we may feed God with Christ.
