Ordinary Days

Experience of Christ General

1
Little by little,
The Lord is cutting off all our natural life;
As we grow in Him,
He replaces us with more of His life divine.

It is our destiny,
To live a normal life in the divine dispensing,
It is a blessing,
To be satisfied with ordinary days
in the divine dispensing.
2
Day by day,
Our inward parts are being renewed by the Lord;
Every day,
Fresh and rich supply to us He does afford.
3
Here a little,
And there a little, Christ reveals Himself to us;
When we read His word,
We are satisfied and we enjoy Him thus.
4
Morning by morning,
Jehovah He is faithful to awaken us;
He instructs our ears,
With just a word, the weary to sustain we must.
5
From strength to strength,
We’re on the highways to enter into our God;
Though Satan opposes,
We are strengthened to lay hold of more of God.
6
Grace upon grace,
The Triune God is processed for us to enjoy;
The law is over,
Now we can partake of His supply through grace.
7
From glory to glory,
We are in the process of being transformed;
Beholding, reflecting,
To God’s image with all saints we’ll be conformed.

I enjoyed seeing that our Christian life is a life and goes from level to level, from strength to strength, little by little. Don't be discouraged for where you are in life! It is not an instant transformation - we will not become overcomers overnight. We have seen something of the Lord, and we will get there! The Lord will gain His House, His Dwelling Place! It is our destiny to go on enjoying Christ by living ordinary days in His divine dispensing, from glory to glory!

I grew to love the chorus of this hymn more and more each day - we are SO blessed to be able to live the normal church life in the divine dispensing. It is our destiny in Christ to be satisfied with ordinary days, and I wouldn't have it any other way :) The Lord's not looking for spiritual giants in the church life but simply normal functioning Christians that faithfully love Him, little by little, morning by morning, from strength to strength, grace upon grace! Hallelujah!

Praise the Lord it's not an instant transformation. Every day, little by little - that's how we grow in Him. By beholding and reflecting, we are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory!
