Christian, seek not yet repose

Prayer The Calling

English765
1
Christian, seek not yet repose,
Hear thy gracious Savior say;
Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray.
2
Principalities and powers,
Mustering their unseen array,
Wait for thy unguarded hours:
Watch and pray.
3
Gird thy heavenly armor on,
Wear it ever night and day;
Ambushed lies the evil one:
Watch and pray.
4
Hear the victors who o’ercame,
Still they mark each warrior’s way;
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
Watch and pray.
5
Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou lovest to obey;
Hide within thy heart His word:
Watch and pray.
6
Watch, as if on that alone
Hung the issue of the day;
Pray, that help may be sent down:
Watch and pray.

Ohh God help me!!!

Just preaching to myself in my room on "dealing with Depression"and the holy Ghost dropped "the enemies wait for your unguarded hours, watch and pray"

Oh Christians, the enemy knows you very well and they're waiting eagerly for your unguarded hours. Remember their assignment is kill, still and destroy. We are in the midst of foes, remember!!!

Grace to all believers in the world.

God is for us. We'll always gain the victory. Amen.

Caught myself pondering on this hymn today.

😂😂😂😂😂

I’ve been singing this hymn, but until this morning, I decided to look at the wordings again and read what inspired it.

The second line of the first stanza caught my attention 😂, how come I never paid attention to this line all these years?

I read it again and shouted, so I’ve been singing without deep attention or analysis. I’ve only been enjoying the emotions that accompany the hymn, and the solemn but bold messages.

The Hymn has deeper messages.

The hymn writer says Christians should cast their dreams of ease away 😂😂😂😂😂.

Christians are dreaming of all the comforts and a life without challenges, hardship or controversies at all. We want it so easy that we don’t even work or wait for it. It’s always urgent. 🚨 Isn’t that a dream too wild for people *still* living in the midst of their foes? 😂

Funny enough, we don’t even pray enough for the level of victory we desire against the rulers of darkness 😂😂😂
