Abide with me! fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide!
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.

Come not in terrors, as the King of kings;
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings:
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea;
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.
Come not in terrors, as the King of kings;
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings:
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea;
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.

I need Thy presence every passing hour:
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, oh, abide with me.

What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, oh, abide with me.

I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless:
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness:
Where is death’s sting? where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless:
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness:
Where is death’s sting? where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

This is one of my all time favorite hymns. It is comforting to know that in life or death Jesus is always abiding with me. Thank you Jesus, I love you.

I was amazed to hear this song/hymn been played at the ceremony of our Republic Day, by the Navy Band. So in curiosity I searched from Google and understood the whole song and story behind this. I thank God for having made me to come across this event and facts behind it. I pray for our Navy Band and also my country INDIA. Praise God for this!

Abide with me
Lord Jesus when all helpers fail me, the Lord will be there for me
Lord Jesus abide with me, if my own I can do nothing
But with God I can overcome
The Lord is my helper what can man do to me?
I 😍 love this song
Thanks

"Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes /
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies /
Heav'ns morning breaks and earth 's vain shadows flee /
In life, in death, O O Lord, abide with me."

A song of reassurance that as long as Christ lives, neither death nor angels, nor demons nor our greatest fears will separate us from the love of God

When I turn inward there's a lot to make me be afraid, dispair, wear out but my saviour Christ Jesus comforts me through this hymn"i fear no evil with thee at hand to bless"Amen.
