Jesus my Shepherd in tenderness came

1
Jesus my Shepherd in tenderness came,
Seeking my soul, one lost sheep to reclaim!
Laid down His life when He died on the tree,
Now He's the risen One living in me!
  I am so glad that God dwells in me,
The Triune God—now dwells in me!
Oh what a day, the Triune God came—
And now He lives in me!
2
Like a fine woman, He swept and He searched,
For one lost coin which to Him had great worth;
When by His Spirit He shined on my sin,
All night was scattered, and He entered in!
3
Once, lost in sin, from my Father I roamed,
Yet deep within I still longed for a home;
But by His mercy this prodigal sees!
I was once dead, but now God lives in me!
4
Through the Son's death, I have access to God,
Through the sweet washing of His precious blood;
One Spirit now reconciled indeed,
One with the Triune God, living in me!
5
What love divine that my God has made known,
Sinners and the Triune God find a home!
What grace bestowed to the less than the least—
Oh, hallelujah! God's living in me!

I am so glad that God dwells in me,

The Triune God—now dwells in me!

Oh what a day, the Triune God came—

And now He lives in me! Praise You Lord!
