What a Friend we have in Jesus

1
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
  All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
  Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
  O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
  Everything to God in prayer!
2
Have we trials and temptations?
  Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
  Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
  Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
  Take it to the Lord in prayer.
3
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
  Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
  Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
  Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He'll take and shield thee,
  Thou wilt find a solace there.

In the past many of my prayers have been for me, my wants or needs. I have been impressed lately by the power of prayer. I have been burdened for many different people. I have been greatly encouraged by the Lord answering some of my prayers. I have searched the New Testament for pray, prayer, or prayers. I found one verse that really impressed me. It is Col 4:12. It says “always laboring fervently in prayers that you may stand perfect [mature] and complete in all the will of God”. This is a petition I have for many. I believe this is very much on God’s heart according to His will. What a friend we have in Jesus. We can take every thing to Him! He knows what we need to grow. He loves us.

Many times we forfeit our peace and we suffer needless pains all because we don't carry out problems to Jesus.

Cast all your cares on Him, he is ever ready to lift our burden from us

As very young children my sister and I so often heard our Mother singing this hymn that, although we are in our nineties, it still reminds us of His love and the fact that God is only a prayer away! When we go to Him in prayer, He gives us the blessed assurance that he hears every one of our prayers

brother Smith ~ you will do well to ask God who giveth to all liberally and up braideth not, per our beloved brother James

IMHE to be sure, ’tis no miss step or mis take, nor is your post; for which am so soo glad Jesus’still saying: “… the hour cometh an now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. ”-saintJohn 4. 23-4 . Why there are false prophets many an false worshippers, besides; let us be reminded the 10virgins parable-all virgins were saved! 5 with oil in their proverbial lamps trimmed gained entrance into the marriage supper of the Lamb right—we’re in the dressing room, so to speak right!

Y2K3 Rise Up! O men of God, Pray song loomed large ly now jus this morn hereon th Eastern seaboard th impressive/urgent matter of prayer emphasizes clean hands an pure hearts, harmless and blameless, perfect an entire wanting nothing sons and daughters of God Yah, in this ecumenicalism age; he is specific therein our beloved brother Paul’s second letter to the Corinthian saints, chapter 6, verses 14-7 an remember how that the Thessaloniansaints were mandated to pray without ceasing— now is for those who strive to enter in the strait gate Yah, the narrow way; for Babylon is fallen! is fallen! I tripped over this hymn this morning. I have been a faithful Christian for nearly my whole life. Why now has the Lord been impressing me so much about this matter of prayer?
