To God be the glory, great things He hath done

Worship of the Father His Redemption

English39

1

To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice;
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice;
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.

2

Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

3

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.

mmmmh thanks.

My GrandPa gave me a sheet to type for him, when I finished the first paragraph I realized it was the lyrics of this song.

And I said to myself mmmh why should I type all of this when I can download it and print it for him.

When I got here I loved it so much listening to the guitar.

Thanks.

I went home to visit family in Jamaica, and went to church, and they sang this song, it brought back so many memories. I thank God for downloading it into me right now.

Heard this first when I was a server many years ago, we use to take the blessed sacrament round the streets in Sheffield, happy times.

It still makes me so happy when I hear it, so much has changed in England its a pity one can't go back, also when one loses both parents life changes.

This hymn reminds me on two crucial plans that God had from the genesis of our earth: creation and redemption. It highlights the reason to why humanity need to praise the LORD:

1. He created us in His own image and likeness

2. He provide our daily needs and His provision satisfy our own desires

3. He send His only Son to die on our behalf: redemption that was planned from the beginning (Genesis 3:15)

The song really inspire my soul to praise the Lord persistently.

Ever refreshing.

I pray verse 2 for my neighbor, who at 77 years of age is looking at 5 years probation for defending an 81 year old woman more vigorously than the law allows.

In his view, he is spending his last years fearing that he will fail to comply completely with all the numerous restrictions -- some of which he has not understood very well, I fear.

He needs to know God's love and mercy and healing of his current depression, and for the enlightenment of the eyes of his heart to see the grace and beauty around him.

Danke lieber HERR Jesus! Jedes mal wenn ich dieses Lied höre und mitsinge, werde ich an seine große Liebe und Gnade von meinem HERR erinnern. Und Ich bekomme auch wieder mal die Kraft, von vorne anzufangen. Amen! Halleluja!
