在行傳三章十四至十五節，彼得對猶太人說，『你們棄絕了那聖別公義者，反而要求把一個作兇手的人給你們。你們殺了那生命的創始者，神卻叫祂從死人中復活了，我們都是這事的見證人。』譯為『創始者』的原文是archegos，阿契高斯，意創始者、起源、起始者、元首、元帥。本辭在十五節指基督是生命的起源或起始者，因此是生命的創始者，與兇手相對。按照本節，彼得指明基督是生命的源頭、起源、起始；祂在生命上是創始者，是元首。在此我們看見生命分賜到人裏面；這就是繁殖基督。為着這樣的繁殖，我們需要主作生命的創始者，作生命的源頭。
