I know not what awaits me

1
I know not what awaits me,
  God kindly veils my eyes,
And o’er each step of my onward way
  He makes new scenes to rise;
And every joy He sends me comes
  A sweet and glad surprise.
  Where He may lead I’ll follow,
  My trust in Him repose;
And every hour in perfect peace,
  I’ll sing, “He knows, He knows”;
And every hour in perfect peace,
  I’ll sing, “He knows, He knows.”
2
One step I see before me,
  ’Tis all I need to see,
The light of heaven more brightly shines
  When earth’s illusions flee;
And sweetly through the silence comes,
  His loving, “Trust in Me!”
3
Oh, blissful lack of wisdom,
  ’Tis blessed not to know;
He holds me with His own right hand,
  And will not let me go,
And lulls my troubled soul to rest
  In Him who loves me so.
4
So on I go not knowing;
  I would not if I might;
I’d rather walk in the dark with God
  Than go alone in the light;
I’d rather walk by faith with Him
  Than go alone by sight.

Wow. I didn’t know this song existed, but this is exactly what I need at this moment.

We must arm ourselves with a mind to suffer, but we should not only expect from God's hand harsh blows. For how can we go on if we only know the dealing work of God? This song reminds us that in over each step the Lord makes new scenes to rise; and sends every joy as a sweet and glad surprise.

One step I see before me,

’Tis all I need to see,

The light of heaven more brightly shines

When earth’s illusions flee;

And sweetly through the silence comes,

His loving, “Trust in Me! ”

How true! May the light of heaven more brightly shine as earth's illusions flee!

In the Song of Songs the Beloved Christ is repeatedly calling His seeking lover to follow Him: “Come away”, “Come with me”, and “Open to me” – 2:10; 4:8; 5:2. When His voice knocks upon our heart, and we do not know where He will lead us, we can be assured that it will be into a more intimate union and a deeper fellowship of love with Him!

Amen. Our only hope and trust is in our God.

And every hour in perfect peace,

I’ll sing, “He knows, He knows. ” Truly He knows!

...

I’d rather walk in the dark with God

Than go alone in the light;

I’d rather walk by faith with Him

Than go alone by sight.

The real light is God Himself. How can we see the reality of things outside of Him?

We may think that we see clearly about the future, yet our future is in His hand. Why not trust in Him, walk step by step with Him to know Him and His way.

Truly, He is making it for His purpose, for His goal. And we are in it.

Praise the Lord Jesus. No matter what awaits me I have already had You, my Lord. I am lack of wisdom in the world but am blissful from You. I am not alone because You hold me with Your right hand and don't want me to go. You make my troubled soul to have rest, because You love me so much! Hallelujah, I love You! I present all myself to You and fully trust You. I want to satisfy You but not people on the earth. In any trial, I will just be simply faith, to walk with You! Thanks for all saints' sharing which was so sweet to me. Let us keep our faith into our Lord Jesus and wait for our new Jerusalem's coming. Hallelujah!

I can never ever be able to walk alone with Christ Jesus! This hymn is a bread for the spirit, soul and body. Thank You Jesus for all Your love and care.

How wonderful and how sweet. We may not know what's ahead of us, but no matter how miserable and dark the future seems, He is walking with us. It doesn't matter anymore what our path may be. As long as we have Him, everything's okay :) . Many things have passed, time has passed, and people passed us by, but after all these years He is still there, the dearest and nearest to our hearts. How we love You, Lord Jesus. You are so precious to us.

This hymn truly expresses my experience over the last almost 9 years. I had no idea what my life would turn out to be all those years ago. Lord thank You that even though I still don't know my future, you know! Hallelujah saints that we don't need to know and that He kindly veils our eye's, all we must keep our eyes on is this dear priceless, precious Person! "Lord Jesus, I would rather walk in the dark with You than be without You in the light!".
