Standing on the promises of Christ my King

B200 E340 K1023 S161
1
Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
  Standing on the promises of God.

Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
  I’m standing on the promises of God.
2
Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
  Standing on the promises of God.
3
Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
  Standing on the promises of God.
4
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
  Standing on the promises of God.
5
Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,
  Standing on the promises of God.

I prayed for children returning to school for peace when faced with daily challenges, then remembered this song from my childhood. I found these lyrics and found they are so similar to my prayer. Hearing this hymn has truly been a comfort to me today.

Standing on the promises of God without wavering, is an assurance that God can not failed what he has promised to those who put their trust in him. It is one of the Great hymns l loved to sing in my quiet Time. It helps to quicken my mortal body. It's a reminder to all Christians that we must stand on the promises of God. Sweet hymn. God can not failed, his promises to you and I will be fulfilled.

Singing this song this morning in my room with the assurance that the promises of God for my life will come to pass. So I cast all my anxieties, my frustrations and pains on Him knowing His in control.

Just rounding up my devotion with a passage from Romans 8:32, that says, God gives us ALL things, that we should stand firmly on God promises. I'm blessed by the words of the song. A good way to enter into the 2nd half of year 2022. Glory be to God 🙏
