Take time to behold Him

Encouragement For Fellowship with the Lord

Nouvelles mélodies643
1
Take time to behold Him,
Speak oft with Thy Lord,
Abide in Him always,
And feed on His Word.
Wait thou in His presence,
Submissive and meek,
Forgetting in nothing
His blessing to seek.
2
Take time to behold Him,
The world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret
With Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus
Like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends, in thy conduct,
His likeness shall see.
3
Take time to behold Him,
Let Him be thy guide;
And run not before Him
Whatever betide;
In joy or in sorrow
Still follow thy Lord,
And, looking to Jesus,
Still trust in His Word.
4
Take time to behold Him,
Be calm in thy soul,
Each thought and each temper
Beneath His control.
Thus led by His Spirit
To fountains of love,
Thou then shalt be fitted
His mercy to prove.

I always listen to this song without noticing the words of the song until today. I felt even more touched and supported after reading and singing with it.

This song is so rich and whenever I sing it, You can feel the Lord's presence. It's so important to see how much we need the Lord in our daily lives and how we must take the time to just behold Him. Praise the Lord!

I really enjoyed this song because it tells us how we need to take some time to love and spend time with the Lord. My favorite stanza is 2. It says that the world rushes on while we spend time loving the Lord! Hallelujah!

The forth stanza is my favourite, because everytime I am getting mad, there is always a song singing in the deepest place in my heart to tell me that "take time to behold Him, be calm in thy soul, each thought and each temper, beneath His control", just by thinking and giving everything to the Lord, I always can keep calm. For each time I sing this song to myself, I know that my whole being is occupied by Him and beneath His control!!!! Praise the Lord!!! and also, this hymn encourages me to spend more personal time with Jesus, so that I can be more perfected and filled with the Holy Spirit!!!!
