Just to Grow in Life

Once a sinner, now I’m saved;
Still, I lack in many ways.
Lord, it feels like nothing has changed.
Patient, yet I cannot wait;
Loving, yet not void of hate;
Lord, I don’t want to stay the same.
Thought I had to come up with my own solutions,
But You’re showing me the way to take.
  I don’t have to know my complications;
I just need to grow in the Lord,
Enjoying Him day by day,
Pursuing Him with the saints,
Absorbing Him just as a branch would in the vine.
There’s no need for me to struggle and to strive;
Just to grow in life.
Eating Your word when I wake,
Nothing should get in the way;
Calling ceaselessly on Your name.
Meeting You with all the saints,
Feasting on Your boundless grace,
Praising as I call it a day.
I’ve let go of all religious regulations;
Found a new, enjoying way to take.

There’s no need for us to struggle and to strive,

We just need to grow in life.

I would like to say that I believe many may misconstrue this line: "I do not need to know my complications"

The truth is that we should not seek within ourselves with our own natural light to figure out what is wrong or what may be complicated within us. This is to introspect. This is the source of many of the seeker's problems in the Song of Songs. It profits nothing to do this because we only will lose the presence of the Lord and not grow at all. That which is apart from the Spirit, even our seeking to do away with our issues, profits us nothing. So in this sense this line is true.

However, we must see that knowing our complications is absolutely necessary. The source of this knowing should be the divine light. When br. Paul wrote to the Corinthians before he spoke to them he first had to know what kind of people they were--they were fleshly Christians having not grown from babe to those who are spiritual and mature. Without this seeing and knowing how could they understand their flesh? How could they go on to full laudatory maturity?

Simply, seek not to know in ourselves but seek the Lord and His light to grow in the Lord.

Right. We don't need to know our complications. We just need to grow in the Lord, enjoying Him day by day.
