Everything seems to be a downward spiral
But I’m on an upward path;
Currents flow against me, still I keep on going.
Wond’ring if I’ll ever last,
“Do not fear”—I hear the voice of my Christ Jesus:
“Just have faith, for I am the Lord.
All will pass, but what you have in you’s eternal.”
So I simply trust His word.

Though I feel like I’m the only one that’s different
In these cruel, crooked times,
I will be the salt that kills the world’s corruption
And the light that brightly shines.
Lord, it seems like I’m the only one who’s standing;
Could it be, I’m left on my own?
“Worry not for I have set apart a remnant
Who, like you, seek Me alone.”
