Showers of Blessing

1
O Lord, You know I don’t like this.
O Lord, does it have to be this way?
I’m worn, but still longing for Your kiss.
And deep in my heart I still love You,
So keep me open anyway to Your
  Showers of blessing.
Rain down, rain down.
Showers of blessing.
I’m open now to Your showers of blessing.
Bless me now with Your showers of blessing.
Bless me now.
2
O Lord, my heart has been broken.
So closed, yet full of so many things.
O Lord, come heal me and empty me.
I give You my heart; I’m wide open.
Flow into my entire being with Your
  [Bridge]
The greatest blessing is to hear Your speaking,
Making You so real to me each day.
I won’t let You go till the blessings overflow.
Reach me in my deepest parts. Fill me today.
Fill me with
  Showers of blessing.
Rain down, rain down.
Showers of blessing.
I’m open now to Your showers of blessing.
Bless me now with Your showers of blessing.
Bless me now.
  Bless me now.
Bless me now.
Bless me now.
Bless me now.
Bless me now.

In Ezekiel 34:26, the Lord says, “I will cause the showers to come down in their season; there will be showers of blessing. ”

Although God wants to shower us with blessing, we often limit His blessings by hiding from Him, closing our hearts to Him, or allowing our hearts to be filled with so many other things that there isn’t any room for God. All of our experiences of God begin from our heart, so if our hearts are open and emptied, His blessings can flow.

God especially wants to bless us with spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3). God’s greatest blessings come when we spend time with Him and He speaks to us through His Word. Whenever we have His personal speaking, God becomes so real to us. No material blessing can compare to this!

May we all open our hearts and linger in God’s presence until His blessings overflow. We can even pray, “Lord, I won’t let You go until You bless me” (Genesis 32:26). May the Lord rain down showers of blessing upon us!
