Fill My Cup, Lord

Experience of Christ General

Nouveaux chants340
1
Like the woman at the well, I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy.
And then I heard my Savior speaking—
“Draw from My well that never shall run dry.”

Fill my cup, Lord;
I lift it up Lord;
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.
2
There are millions in this world who are seeking
For pleasures earthly goods afford.
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
3
So my brother if the things that this world gives you
Leave hungers that won’t pass away,
My blessed Lord will come and save you
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray—

I love the heart touching words to this hym, and have beautiful memories singing this in church sitting with my family when I was young! I lift my cupped hands in prayer for God to empty me of myself and fill me with Himself and the Blessings He has for me and my family! Thank You Father God! ❤️

This is a beautiful song, it says to me that I need to eat from GOD'S HAND. That only God can truly fill me up, and make me feel whole and satisfied. This world offers temporary distractions and pleasures, but nothing can give me peace with God but God.

This song was coming to me early this morning, but I couldn’t remember part of the refrain, so had to look it up.

We used to sing this in our formerly vibrant Catholic Charismatic Lamb of God prayer group. It was so beautiful.
