Lord, speak to me, that I may speak

1
Lord, speak to me, that I may speak
In living echoes of Thy tone;
As Thou hast sought, so let me seek
Thy erring children lost and lone.
2
O lead me, Lord, that I may lead
The wandering and the wavering feet;
O feed me, Lord, that I may feed
Thy hungering ones with manna sweet.
3
O strengthen me, that while I stand
Firm on the rock, and strong in Thee,
I may stretch out a loving hand
To wrestlers with the troubled sea.
4
O teach me, Lord, that I may teach
The precious things Thou dost impart;
And wing my words, that they may reach
The hidden depths of many a heart.
5
O give Thine own sweet rest to me,
That I may speak with soothing power
A word in season, as from Thee
To weary ones in needful hour.
6
O fill me with Thy fulness, Lord,
Until my very heart o’erflow
In kindling thought and glowing word,
Thy love to tell, Thy praise to show.
7
O use me, Lord, use even me,
Just as Thou wilt, and when, and where,
Until Thy blessed face I see,
Thy rest, Thy joy, Thy glory share!

This song of consecration is singing in the heart of a fellow worshipper of God. I learned that the words are not remembered. God helps me to look it up and send to that dear one. To God be the glory, and thanks for the composer, the one who has time to post online, and for those who are benefiting from this now and in future.

This hymn was part of my response to the Lord's call to Christian ministry. Every time I either sing it, hear it sung or read it, it takes me back to the that special evening. I love this hymn.

I need to read these words often to remind me, as it portrays so simply and clearly what the Christian life is all about. It matches another short song - "To be like Jesus, to be like Jesus, all I ask, to be like Him. All through life's journey from from earth to glory, all I ask, to be like Him"

This song has always been a blessing to me. I have not sung it in a long time and this morning as I settle down for my devotions the first line bursts from my lips. I don't know all the lines so I quickly look it up. Verse two Is a direct prayer from my heart as I struggle deeply with a situation. It is my prayer as well "to stretch out a loving hand to (fellow) wrestlers with the troubled sea." Thanks Frances for having made yourself available to the Lord that He could use you in this wonderful way.

A beautiful prayer for those who want to bless others.

This is a beautiful hymn. And a wonderful prayer to pray for myself. Now I need to pray this for fellow believers.

Enjoyed verse 6. "O fill me with Thy fulness, Lord."

Ephesians 3: 19 May be filled unto the fullness of God.

Christ is the fullness of God. We can be filled with Him as that fullness. Our corporate filling is the church, the Body of Christ, the fulness of the One who fills all in all.

I love the words to this song.

It really guides us step by step.

He knows the end from the beginning. He is all knowing.

I just have to listen and obey him.

I pray that He leads me as I try to help people in my homeland Uganda in the coming months.
