I know not why God’s wondrous grace
|I know not why God’s wondrous grace
To me He hath made known,
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
Redeemed me for His own.
|But “I know Whom I have believed
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I’ve committed
Unto Him against that day.”
|I know not how this saving faith
To me He did impart,
Nor how believing in His word
Wrought peace within my heart.
|I know not how the Spirit moves,
Convincing men of sin,
Revealing Jesus through the Word,
Creating faith in Him.
|I know not what of good or ill
May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days,
Before His face I see.
|I know not when my Lord may come,
At night or noon-day fair,
Nor if I’ll walk the vale with Him,
Or “meet Him in the air.”

Thank you for making this available to all who need encouragement. When I am weak, then He is strong. I praise the God of the Bible Who recorded this and other "great and precious promises" through mortal men like Paul and Peter and all the prophets and apostles.

One thing I like about being in a religion is so that I can listen to such magnificent songs including this one. I'm not a Christian, but I still maintain my theistic belief and am grateful for all the positive things God had given to my friends and I. May all believers be blessed by our Creator Himself.

What a beautiful song, and it's so true. We can't explain why God loves us; we just know that He does by His grace and mercy. I'm grateful for conviction by the Holy Ghost and salvation through Jesus! How wonderful that the chorus comes straight from the King James Version of the Bible!
