À propos de la notation chiffrée

La notation chiffrée (aussi appelée Jianpu, 简谱) note chaque son de la mélodie par un chiffre de 1 à 7 plutôt que par une note sur une portée. Le chiffre indique la position de la note dans la gamme du chant -- pas sa hauteur exacte -- de sorte que la même mélodie garde toujours la même apparence, quelle que soit la tonalité chantée.

Au sein d'une même octave, les chiffres 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 correspondent aux syllabes familières do ré mi fa sol la si. Un point au-dessus d'un chiffre le fait monter d'une octave ; un point en dessous le fait descendre d'une octave -- l'absence de point correspond à l'octave médiane, telle qu'écrite.

Un chiffre seul dure un temps. Un tiret (-) juste après un chiffre prolonge cette même note d'un temps supplémentaire. Un trait sous un chiffre le raccourcit au contraire -- un trait vaut un demi-temps, deux traits un quart de temps. Un 0 est un silence : une pause d'un temps.

L'indication en haut de la partition, par exemple "1=C" ou "1=Ab", précise la hauteur du degré 1 (le "do"). Un chant en mineur porte plutôt l'indication "6=X" -- le degré 6 (le "la") est alors la véritable tonique. Les noms d'accords indiqués au-dessus des notes (comme "C" ou "G7") restent toujours écrits avec leurs noms de lettres habituels, jamais sous forme de chiffres.

Par exemple, sous l'indication "1=C", les chiffres 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 correspondent aux notes C D E F G A B. Sous l'indication "1=G", ces mêmes chiffres correspondent plutôt à G A B C D E F# -- même forme, tonalité différente.

Perhaps a year or two ago, the Lord told me that there are two descriptive words that begin with the letters “EXH“ in English. They can both describe you at the end of the day, depending on what you chose. The words are exhilarated and exhausted. If you trust God‘s grace through your day and receive the abundance of grace, you will reign in life. Everything will seem miraculous and easy, like the doors that opened on their own as PETER was taken out of the jail before he was supposed to be executed by Herod. If you try to do it yourself trying to “be a good Christian“, you will be exhausted. This is also what the Lord means when he says: “not by might nor by power, but by my spirit”. This song with its rhythm, light melody, and exuberant praise of God’s grace seems to have that exact same feeling to it.

Have been singing this song firmly imprinted on my mind from childhood all day. The truth of the lyrics and chorus bring thankful tears to my eyes. So encouraged to see similar responses from many parts of the world. Oh the joy of sins forgiven!

This wonderful old hymn has been running through my memory this morning. The longer I live, the more I realize just how true the words of this old hymn are for me. I thank God for His unspeakable gift: Salvation through Jesus Christ alone! I've had a long life, and as each day passes, I realize ever more clearly just what a sinner I am and how amazing and beautiful is the grace of my Savior. "What wonderous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!..." I surely am "only a sinner saved by grace..."

these words are going through my mind so often lately; mornings ; or evenings; and I am so thankfull when I do start singing it as I am only a sinner saved by grace: not by works; but my father's grace and love: I pray I love others the same: it is difficult at times; but with God's help it is doable:

i am only a sinner saved by grace, the chorus of this hymn has been going through my mind for these last few weeks, I am only a sinner saved by Grace.

and being so gratefull, to our LORD and SAVIOUR, how merciful HE is to a sinner like me. I love my LORD JESUS CHRIST:and cannot thank HIM enough for saving me. it is a hymn I learned in sunday school, 75 yrs ago. GOD BLESS everyone at hymnal. net
