There shall be showers of blessing:
G
There shall be
D
showers of
G
blessing:
D
This is the
D7
promise of
G-G7
love;
C
There shall be seasons re
G
freshing,
A
Sent from the
A7
Savior a
D7
bove.
Showers of blessing,
Showers of
A
blessing we
D-D7
need;
G
Mercy-drops
C
round us are
G
falling,
D
But for the
D7
showers we
G
plead.
2
There shall be showers of blessing—
There shall be showers of blessing—
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
G
There shall be
D
showers of
G
blessing—
D
Precious
D7
reviving
G-G7
again;
C
Over the hills and the

valleys,
A
Sound of

abundance of

rain.
Showers of blessing,
Showers of

blessing we

Mercy-drops
C
round us are
G

D
But for the

3
There shall be showers of blessing;
There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
G
There shall be
D
showers of
G
blessing;
D
Send them

upon us, O

4
There shall be showers of blessing;
There shall be showers of blessing;
O that today they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
G
There shall be
D
showers of
G
blessing;
D
O that
D7
today they might
G-G7
fall,
C
Now as to God we're
G
confessing,
A
Now as on
A7
Jesus we

call!
Showers of blessing,
Showers of

D
But for the
D7
showers we

5
There shall be showers of blessing,
There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
G
There shall be
D
showers of
G
blessing,
D
If we but
D7
trust and
G-G7
obey;
C
There shall be seasons
G
refreshing,
A
If we let
A7
God have His

way.
Showers of blessing,

But for the

I am 73 years old & I grew up on this song. We do not hear precious, heartfelt songs like this today. But thanks be to God that this song can be taught to our younger generation. I have given the words to my children & they have been & are bless with many Showers of Blessings..
Thank You God

After many days of dry and hot days, in what should be our rainy season, crops started to dry and our anxieties started to grow. Fear of another devastating drought has been a regular item in my morning and evening devotions.
How pleasant it was today to wake up and find that it was raining. These were truly Showers of blessing. Amazing how this hymn came upon my heart and lips. Praise be to God for His faithfulness.

Thank you dear father God for all the blessings that you pour out on your people. Thank you Jesus for what you did on the cross and that it was Final and that it was done and your love was poured out, and that nothing can separate us from your love. Thank you Holy Spirit for reminding me of this song this morning and playing it in my consciousness.
