Fill My Cup, Lord

1
Like the woman at the well, I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy.
And then I heard my Savior speaking—
“Draw from My well that never shall run dry.”
  Fill my cup, Lord;
I lift it up Lord;
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.
2
There are millions in this world who are seeking
For pleasures earthly goods afford.
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
3
So my brother if the things that this world gives you
Leave hungers that won’t pass away,
My blessed Lord will come and save you
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray—

Woke up this morning with this song!

It's been so very long since I've heard this song in our churches!

Come and quench this thirsting in my soul! Bread of Heaven feed me till I want no more! Fill my cup Lord, fill it up and make me whole.

Come Lord Jesus come!

This is my inspiration today. All I need is to be in the presence of my Heavenly Father. Fill my cup Lord, I need You today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.

In response to Mr. Olushola, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria, I am prepared to sing to you or at the same time teach you how to sing the verses of this song "Fill My Cup Lord" just as the notes are scored. You can call me on [hidden], as am very close to you in Lagos. Just to give you necessary assurance, I am someone you must have met years back through a TV performances with Funmi Iyanda. Hoping to see you soonest. Thanks.

Thank you, Vee, for your encouraging and uplifting comments. I completely agree. And to Leslie--better start checking the Word of God instead of Calvin. Your comments on verse 3 of this song show you aren't following the Bible but hyper-Calvinism. Whosoever will may come--as many as receive Him, to them He gives the power (right or privilege) to become the children of God. Leslie, you are right--"The Lord is under no obligation to 'save me' simply because I 'humbly' ask Him to." But He will--because He has offered by grace to saved those who call upon the name of the Lord upon believing that Jesus Christ is their personal payment for their sins. We must never add nor take away what God has said in His Word--ESPECIALLY about His offer of salvation by grace through faith.

In reply to Leslie, why do you make such disturbing comments about a song which is simply trying to minister and tell "the sinner" how to get to God? In 2 Chronicles 7:14 says "if my people who are called by my name will HUMBLE themselves and PRAY........ I know there are more requirements, but this is a song to encourage you to get to know God, not a Bible study moment. How did you get from commenting on the lyrics of a song to spouting what looks like condemnation.

Simply listening to the words with a contrite heart will do, follow the instructions, then God and the Holy Spirit will do the rest.
