If therefore anyone cleanses himself from these, He will be a vessel unto honor sanctified, Useful to the master, Prepared unto every good work, unto every good work. A vessel unto honor, sanctified, useful to the master.

But flee youthful lusts, and pursue Righteousness, faith, love, peace with Those who call, call on the Lord Out of a pure heart.
William Jeng, Amen your comment. "Fleeing and pursuing looks like we are running like crazy. Lol.
We are running away from something terrible-the flesh, the self, the world, youthful lusts; pursuing something beautiful - righteousness, faith, love, peace, the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah! This was an encouragement for a not so youthful brother.
Amen! Praise the Lord! Let us all pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with all our companions who call on the Lord’s name out of a pure heart!
Escaping worldly lusts is sometimes (even most of the times) difficult when we try it by ourselves. But when we flee them with "those who call" (which is the church), it would be easier for us. That's why, we must not only depend on the Lord, but also on the brothers and sisters in the church.
