Now the Lord our souls has fed

1
Now the Lord our souls has fed,
With Himself, the Living Bread;
Fed us, sitting at His feet,
With the finest of the wheat.
2
We have endless treasure found;
We have all things and abound;
Rich abundance and to spare;
Shall we not the blessing share?
3
For, while we are feasting here,
Starving millions, far and near,
Call us with the bitter cry:
Come and help us, or we die.
4
In this day of full increase,
Shall we, can we, hold our peace?
Staying here we do not well;
Now then, let us go and tell:
5
Tell how He hath set us free,
How He leads triumphantly;
How He satisfies our need;
How His rest is rest indeed.
6
Speak, for we, Thy servants, hear;
Thou hast taught us not to fear;
And whate’er Thy word shall be,
We can do it, Lord, in Thee.

This is a great reminder to share the gospel the way the apostle shared it, by relating his experience before and after Christ (Acts 26). Our testimony of His life-changing person and power makes a difference!

Annie Wright (or Westland) Marston wrote a biography of her sister Mrs. Cecil Polhill, entitlled, "With the King". The Polhills were missionaries to China and later Tibet with the China Inland Mission started by Hudson Taylor. Annie also wrote, "The Great Closed Land: A Plea for Tibet", "The children of China: written for the children of England", "The children of India, written for the children of England by one of their friends" and "The children of Africa for all English-Speaking children". All her hymns were written for Keswick Conventions.

In 1908 Cecil Polhill visited Azusa Street, Los Angeles, where he had a Pentecostal experience. Before returning to England Polhill wrote a cheque for £1500 to pay off the mortgage on the Azusa Street building. After returning to England Polhill attended Alexander Boddy's first Sunderland Convention, and helped Boddy fund his Pentecostal periodical, "Confidence". Polhill became the first President of the Pentecostal Missionary Union, and administered it along China Inland Mission lines. In 1925 the Executive Council of the PMU voted to merge with the British Assemblies of God, and so Polhill, an Anglican, resigned aged 65. He maintained friendly relationships with the PMU, and missionaries in the field. - Wikipedia
