Thank you so much for putting this on the internet:-) It is so cheering and just the refocusing I desperately needed. This beautiful simple song turns my thoughts back to the goodness of God and all He has done! It is one of those songs that remind us that others too have walked with Jesus through difficult times. He is faithful and He is not worried or flustered. He is the answer and will make all things beautiful in His time.

Years ago I was an usher during Christian gatherings. When I was asked to count the number of attendees, I would often sing "count your blessings" as I would count each person there. Every brother and sister, in whatever situation or condition they are in, is a "blessing" of God!

In life there are times when we are low and feel as though everything is against us, and we easily forget all the good things (blessings) the Lord has showered on us in the past and continues to. We tend to focus on what we don't have or wish we had, instead of what we already have. I like this hymn because it draws our attention to all the things we ought to be thankful for (many of them money cannot buy) - and indeed they are numerous.
