Hymn: I need Thee every hour

I need Thee every hour,
Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.

I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior!
I come to Thee.

I need Thee every hour,
Stay Thou near by;
Temptations lose their power
When Thou art nigh.

I need Thee every hour,
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.

I need Thee every hour,
Teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises
In me fulfill.

I need Thee every hour,
Most Holy One;
Oh, make me Thine indeed,
Thou blessed Son.

I am 70 yeas old and although I have called myself a Christian for over 50 years. I am just realizing that belief in Him is not the same as knowing Him. I made my own plans & asked Him to bless them. I had it all backwards. My strength is gone now through illness & the struggles of life. I see now so clearly that this life has been a love story that He has sung over me. I truly need Him every hour to stay in communion with Him. Oh bless me now my Savior I come to thee. Thank you Jesus, you are my all in all!

All of the precious comments have fed my soul this morning. I wonder what the song writer was suffering when he penned this marvelous hymn?

For many years I only realized I needed the Lord from Sunday to Sunday. I know that was crucial for me to remember and give glory to God. Now, after almost 40 years I come to Him daily and Him to me. Now I really see old Adam and I can see I need Him every hour. That would be a step toward truly mutual abiding. Oh I need you Lord!

Oh, bless me now, my Savior!

I come to Thee.

We need You Lord more than the air we breathe and the food we eat because You own them all.

Father,

I need you. I am not strong enough to bear my burden of responsibilities. I am such a wretched sinner.

Thank you for being my rock and fortress, my steady anchor in the storm. Lord, you rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them (Psalm 89). Thank you that in my weakness, you are strong. You are the glory of my strength, and I will praise you all the day

Currently battling temptations at 1:30 AM. This song is my battle song.

Surely every hour we need Him. From hour to hour we do not know what situations will confront us. We may say hallelujah or amen in the meeting, but when we get home, our joy may vanish, and instead of hallelujah and amen there will be silence and a long face. A problem has arisen. Or we may get chilled and catch cold. Whatever the problem, Christ is there taking care of our case. He bears us when we have a long face or are ill. His interceding never ceases. His ability to take care of us is unlimited because He is the almighty God. His priesthood is an interceding ministry in the heavens, in the Holy of Holies, before God for us.
