The Great Physician now is near

English990

The Great Physician now is near,
The sympathizing Jesus;
He speaks the drooping heart to cheer,
Oh, hear the voice of Jesus!

Sweetest note in seraph song;
Sweetest name on mortal tongue;
Sweetest carol ever sung:
Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Your many sins are all forgiv'n,
Oh, hear the voice of Jesus;
The veil 'twixt you and God is riven,
Redemption wrought by Jesus.

All glory to the dying Lamb!
I now believe in Jesus;
I love the blessed Savior's name,
I love the name of Jesus.

His name dispels my guilt and fear,
No other name but Jesus;
Oh, how my soul delights to hear
The precious name of Jesus!

I live in Canada. When I was a young man I spent a year in Kenya, I used to hear the workers singing this song in Kiswahili. I did not understand the words , when I came home to Canada I was in a church service and they sung it in English. Finally I realized what I had been hearing in Africa! In Africa they sung it with a beautiful African rhythm. God Bless you my African brothers and sisters, keep on singing.....

The kind of song one will call a spiritual song.

A soothing, soul-touching, consoling, sweet melody in harmony with the name of Jesus. It connects me to God all the time I listen to it. Glory to God.

The Great Physician who has seen me through sickness, my survival through the oxygen machine for 4 days and today I lift my hands and sing indeed the Great Physician is near. God lives I have experienced his great power that exceeds all power. Glory be to God Almighty indeed his mercy is from everlasting to everlasting.

Stay blessed.
